The street project is in the final stretch, with expected completion by the end of October. Next week you will see new asphalt on Pembroke and Bridge. Boulevard restoration is expected to start once first layer of asphalt is complete. The final asphalt layer will follow a few weeks after the the first layer. Light poles are completed.
The project has replaced some of the oldest (and leakiest) water and sewer infrastructure in Wabasha, including removing old lead based pipes. This helps our water stay clean and our wastewater treatment stay efficient. The project will also make our downtown much more pedestrian friendly, especially for parents with strollers, people in wheel chairs and walkers.
Thank you Pember and Bolton Menk for your hard work and creativity pushing through the flooding this summer and spring.
We want to thank everyone for your patience throughout this important project. We hope you all enjoy the new sidewalks, improved pedestrian crossings, street lights, and improved public spaces at Heritage and Popcorn Parks.
