Mayor’s Proclamation Declaring A Local Emergency as of June 29th, 2024 effective at 6:00PM
The declaration of a local emergency will invoke the City’s emergency plan and all powers granted to the Mayor and City in accordance with state law, Charter, and City Code
Note: The City Council must give approval in order for the emergency declaration to last more than three days
As of today June 29th, river levels have reached 15.08FT. According to the forecast at this time, pool 4 is expected to reach its crest @ 15.30.FT at 7:00PM on Sunday, June 30th, 2024.
Due to the rise in the Mississippi River level, the following parks and roads will be closed until further notice:
Malone Park & Bike Path
Izaak Walton Park, Parking Lot, and Boat Launch – Including Road Closures @
- Park Entrances
- Maiden Avenue just after 4th Street West
Beach Park & Parking Lot – Including a Road Closure @
- Main Street West @ the beginning of the Beach Park Parking Lot
Parkside Marina Boat Launch & Parking Lot – Including Road Closures @
- Shields Avenue @ 3rd Street West
- Cratte Avenue @ 3rd Street West
- 3rd Street West past Gambia Avenue
The Athletic Field

10th Street East – Between Pembroke Avenue & Bailey Avenue
Alleghany Avenue – Between Market Street West & The back exit of Kwik Trip
Public Works along with Emergency Management will continue to monitor water levels and open the parks, roads, and launches up as soon as it’s safe. The Malone Park bike path will also remain closed at this time.
During this time, please remain alert to more possible flooding, stay out of the water (no swimming), and no fishing (past closed areas). No one is allowed past the posted barricades at anytime.
