Officer Kenny Jacobs
The City of Wabasha is celebrating Police Officer Kenny Jacobs five-year work anniversary. He works the night shift and also coordinates the Zero Death Initiative, which works to prevent serious injuries and deaths on the roadway by enforcing local traffic laws. Before coming to Wabasha, he had worked 5 years in Plainview, so he is a 10-year veteran officer.
“From day one Kenny has embodied what it means to be a Wabasha Police Officer. He is highly knowledgeable in his profession but also thrives in his community policing abilities. He has gained the respect from his fellow Officers and the trust from the residents of this community,” said Chief Joe Stark during his remarks to City Council at their November meeting.
Stark went on to say, that he is also very thorough with his work. ” I know that when he is out handling a call for service that it will be done to completion. He is one of the leaders in our department for self-initiated work by staying visible in the community, checking on businesses and being a leader in conducting traffic stops.”
Sergeant Randy Wagoner shared how Jacob’s teamwork and selflessness makes the whole department stronger.
“Officer Kenny Jacobs exemplifies true teamwork and selflessness through his constant support of his fellow officers and dedication to the community. His positive attitude uplifts those around him and sets the standard for professionalism within the department,” said Wagoner.
At the meeting, Administrator Gregerson also noted how Officer Jacobs is embedded in the community and is up for anything, noting his participation in a range of community events from the trunk or treat, National Night Out, to the Wabasha County Fair Celebrity Swine Show competition.
Congratulations to Officer Jacobs on his 5 years of service to our community!
