On Tuesday, October 22nd Plant Manager Pat Mueller, and Wastewater Technician Steven Henthorn took the WK Outdoor Biology Class out of the classroom and into the Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) for a firsthand experience of day-to-day operations. Three years ago, the city began collaborating with WK Biological Sciences Teacher, Bri Schumacher to offer this unique opportunity to learn about micro-organisms and how they work together to break down the sludge at the plant. Mueller said, “Our goal is o provide knowledge of the operations and appreciation of the clean water and services that the city provides to our residents.”
