NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN to the Public that on Tuesday, December 9, 2025. The Wabasha Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to consider changes to the Wabasha City Ordinance. The following sections will be reviewed: SECTION 162.060 USE CHART – Adding to the definition of a LODGING ESTABLISHMENT for interim uses, SECTION 162.061 to amend the definitions of SHORT TERM RENTAL DWELLING UNIT and LODGING ESTABLISHMENT, and to amend CHAPTER 117; Short Term Rental License including amended license procedures, standards, and application requirements.
This public hearing will take place at the regular monthly meeting of the Wabasha Planning Commission which will be held at the Wabasha City Hall, 900 Hiawatha Drive. This meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. and other items are on the agenda.

Key Proposed Changes:
- Rental license required
- Distance standards added (350 feet in R-1 zoning and 200 feet in R-2 zoning). No new license will be issued if there is another existing short term rental within the distance standards.
- New license requirements such as obtaining state license and inspection and insurance before being licensed
- Annual fee and upfront fee required
- License may be revoked for non-payment of lodging tax or not meeting any other requirements

- Property Site Plan
- Floor Plan
- Proof of rental insurance coverage
- Mn Department of Health inspection and license
