On Saturday, May 9th, the Wabasha Fire Department, with support from Lake City Fire and and Kellogg Fire, was able to succesfully extinguish a large hillside grass fire and prevent it from spreading. They were also able to save the affected house.
“Dry conditions have created an environment where flames can advance quickly, said Fire Chief Darren Sheeley, “Saturday’s fire was a prime example of this. I was grateful that we had mutual aid from Lake City and Kellogg Fire Department.”
The City would like to thank the firefighters and first responders for the bravery, skill, and commitment they demonstrated that evening.
