Individuals interested in running for City Council or Mayor offices in Wabasha in 2022 can file during the official filing period from May 17, 2022 to May 31, 2022. City Council and Mayor candidates must file for office during this period for their name to appear on the ballot and must file at:

Do you want to become an Election Judge?
If you would like to be an Election Judge, please call City Hall at 651-565-4568, to request an application form. Election judges are paid an hourly wage set by City Council, including training and serve on Primary Election Day, and General Election Day. With advance notice, employers must allow workers time off to serve as election judges. Brochures and helpful information can be found by visiting on the Office of Minnesota Secretary of State website.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizen and at least age 18
- Minnesota resident for at least 20 days
- Able to read, write and speak English
- Cannot be a spouse, parent, child or sibling of an election judge serving in same precinct
- Cannot be a spouse, parent, child or sibling of a candidate on the ballot in same precinct
Election Judge Duties:
- Set up polling place
- Operate voting equipment
- Direct voters to correct lines
- Register and assist voters
- Demonstrate how to vote
- Distribute ballots
- Close polling place
- Determine and certify voting results
